The True Way To Experience Australian History And Remain In The City

This is not what you will find within the city of Brisbane, the outback for city folk as it can be called, this the third largest city in Australia and not many are wearing their boots in this incredible city.
Brisbane is the perfect place for the tourist who wants to get a feel for the region but who just doesn’t want to walk the wilderness trail, so to speak. Here are just some of the wonderful things that you will find to do right in Brisbane, not to mention all the night clubs, fine dining, boutiques, art galleries and such that you will find in this region, you will also find that even though it is a true city, they try to bring a little of the Outback into the city so that you can get a feel while still staying in your 5 star hotel and dining at the finest restaurants, after all the rugged wilderness isn’t for everyone.
The first location is the NEWSTEAD HOUSE. This historical home is one of the regions most famous heritage sites. Inside the home you will be about to take a glance some original Victorian furniture, along with numerous antiques and clothing items. This home was originally built in’46 and is a great way to gain an understanding on the experiences and culture of the region.
THE KOALA SANCTUARY is where the wilderness comes alive in this live exhibit right in the heart of Brisbane and is a fun way to get hands on with some of the incredible creatures indigenous to the region.
Then there is the BRISBANE BOTANIC GARDENS. These gardens were planted in’25 as food crops for the prison colony. Today they are the city’s oldest park. Trees and rainforest glades run the length of Alice street and are bordered by Parliament House and Brisbane River. You can choose to explore yourself or take a guided tour. The gardens also have a cafe to relax in and many children play areas. It is a great retreat for visitors and local alike.
